Community & Environmental Partnerships
'“Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much.” — Helen Keller
Collaboration Creates Change
At Eco Surf Australia, we believe meaningful environmental impact is achieved through collaboration, participation and measurable action.
Over the years, we have brought together corporate partners, sponsors, local governments, schools, community groups and environmental organisations to deliver initiatives that contribute to healthier beaches, rivers and marine environments across Australia.
Our projects demonstrate the power of partnerships and the importance of using environmental data to inform change.
Landmark Environmental Initiatives
-
Rottnest Island Pinky Beach & The Basin
Working with destination and corporate partners, Eco Surf Australia has coordinated large-scale environmental clean-up initiatives at iconic Rottnest Island.
These projects bring together sponsors, volunteers and environmental partners to protect one of Western Australia's most treasured coastal environments.
-
Cable Beach Broome
Our Cable Beach initiatives demonstrate the value of bringing together tourism, hospitality and community partners to protect an iconic Australian destination.
-
WA Beach Clean Leighton Beach
Our collaborative involvement in Tangaroa Blue's WA Beach Clean brought together community volunteers and business partners to identify and collect litter, including small plastic fragments and food packaging.
-
North Cottesloe Beach
Annually we join the international campaign Plastic Free July with an audited beach clean at North Cottesloe beach. Started in July 2011 in Perth, Western Australia PFJ has grown into one of the largest plastic waste reduction movements in the world with over 170 million participants across more than 190 countries
Measuring what matters
We believe environmental initiatives should be supported by meaningful information and measurable outcomes.
Through audited litter collection and marine debris data recording, our projects contribute to a better understanding of the types and quantities of litter present in our natural environments.

Our Partners
Our work is made possible through collaboration with organisations that share a commitment to environmental protection.
Connecting land to sea
The health of our oceans begins well beyond the coastline.
From our streets and urban environments to rivers, wetlands and coastal ecosystems, the way we manage waste and resources on land has a direct impact on the health of our waterways and marine environments.
Eco Surf Australia works with communities, councils, environmental organisations and local businesses to create opportunities for practical environmental action.
A connected approach to environmental protection
Our work recognises that environmental challenges are interconnected.
Through collaborative initiatives, we aim to:
-
Raise awareness of the connection between land-based waste and marine pollution.
-
Engage local communities in environmental stewardship.
-
Support beach, river and waterway clean-up initiatives.
-
Encourage responsible waste management and source reduction.
-
Connect businesses and community organisations with environmental action.
-
Support local education and participation.
Stronger outcomes through collaboration
We believe the greatest environmental outcomes are achieved when organisations work together.
By bringing together local knowledge, environmental expertise, community participation and corporate support, we can develop initiatives that respond to local needs while contributing to broader environmental objectives.
Organisations we work closely with include Keep Australia Beautiful Council WA, Tangaroa Blue Foundation, Clean Up Australia and Ausmap.
Together, we can turn environmental awareness into lasting action
